Monthly assignments for 2008:

January Black & White n. As in photography or printmaking, employing only black and white or black, white, and values of gray.
February Open  
March Triptych n. Art consisting of a painting or carving (especially an altarpiece) on three panels (usually hinged together).
   
April Shadows n. 1. The rough image cast by an object blocking rays of illumination. 2. A shaded area in a picture or photograph.
May Open  
June Close Up n. At close range.
     
July Leading Lines Lines in the picture that draw the viewer into the composition.
August Open  
September Digitally Manipulated Enhanced, altered, modified, or doctored. Post processed and altered digitally.
     
October Autumn Colours That splash of beauty that visits us every year, heralding the onset of winter.
November Open

Monthly Competition Rules

  1. Competitions for prints shall be held every 3 months. See programme for dates.
  2. A points system will operate for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each assignment to accumulate over the year. The trophy will be presented annually to the winner with the most points.
  3. Each member may submit up to 2 prints for each assignment. Prints must be mounted not larger than 20" by 16" (508mm by 406mm.) Each print must have the print title and photographer on the rear of the mount.
  4. The judges decision is final.
